I recently blasted off to the east coast of Florida, just one hour from Orlando called the Space Coast. I spent one day at Kennedy Space Center (KSC) which was well worth the visit! My favorite part of the KSC was seeing the Space Shuttle Atlantis. I also highly recommend playing a little extra and taking the Explore Tour, which is a KSC tour bus that takes you to areas not open to the general public such as the Vehicle Assembly Building and the launch pads. They make for great photo opportunities! Don’t miss the Heroes and Legends exhibit as well!

After a day of touring, I ventured a short drive down the coast to spend the weekend at Cocoa Beach, which is well-known for its surfing and home of the Florida Surf Museum. What a great little beach town! Spend an afternoon meandering through the streets of beautiful Cocoa Village and be sure to visit the largest surf shop in the world, Ron Jon Surf Shop. Grab dinner at Coconuts on the Beach and ice cream at The Fat Donkey. I even had the chance to see a Space X rocket launch from the beach! Download the “Space Coast Launches” app for a complete listing of launches and times.
